Singer Kamichi has refused to comment on rumors circulating on local celebrity websites that he owes a popular dancing group known as Sick City an over 200,000Rwf debt, dating back to the time the former was participating in Primus Guma Guma Super Star. The group has come forward alleging that Kamichi had hired them as his backstage dancers, and that the two had in place a verbal agreement that he would give them 100,000 Rwf per show.
According to the crew, they went to perform for Kamichi in two road shows in Muhanga and Rubavu, plus an extra 21,000Rwf which they used as transport. But in a shock turn of events, Kamich refused to pay them their dues after he was evicted from the competition, only issuing false promises that never materialized.
One of the members said, “What we never realized was that we should have signed a written agreement binding us to what we had agreed upon. But Kamichi is like a big brother to us, we see him that way and he takes us to be his younger brothers. We never expected such unprecedented behavior from him.”
But when tukabyine.com contacted Kamichi regarding the developments, the star only said he could not issue a comment so prematurely.
