Uncle Austin during his album launch Uteye Ubusambo in August 2013
Afro beat singer Uncle Austin has expressed his satisfaction and revealed that year 2013 was a success to him. Austin, who never won a major award nor be included in the final list of eleven contestants at Primus Guma Guma Super Star, feels he did more than enough after successfully releasing track after track.
He also managed to launch his album entitled Uteye Ubusambo in August; a feat he says is a great.
Just to recap this achievement, Austin says he released many tracks that include Nyibutsa, Nzisimbukuruza, Urancanga, Uteye Ubusambo, Umugisha w’undi, Amaherezo ft Riderman and many others. But it hasn’t been a smooth ride all the way. Analysts point out that Uncle Austin hasn’t been able to woo as many fans, citing the low turnout at his album launch as just one of the indicators.
His recent “beef” with Mico ‘The Best’ will also not be forgotten that fast. The two were engaged in a bitter war of words after each of them self-proclaimed to be the king of Afro beat. What ensued was a feud full of accusations and counter-accusations that dragged on for many days, but according to Austin, that should not overshadow his achievements for the whole year.
And to crown the year in style, the star has released his newest track called Ibitekerezo as he looks forward to 2014.
