If there ever was a controversial figure in Rwandan music industry, then it must be Bulldog. The rapper is known to be candid, open-minded and eccentric at the same time. He will be fondly remembered for openly slamming the annual Guma Guma Super Star in 2013 when he was eliminated at the first round and for saying the reality TV show is aimed at only promoting Primus, a beer brand brewed by Bralirwa, who are also the main sponsors of the competition.
And this time he is at it again. According to Bulldog, only he, Green P and PFla are the only recognizable figures in hip hop music while all the others come after. Indeed he was overlooking at the more successful artists like Riderman and Jay Polly who have for long dominated and scooped all kinds of accolades. Riderman in particular won the third edition of Primus Guma Guma Super Star, becoming the first ever rapper to do so, but according to Bulldog he’s not anywhere near him.
Through his Facebook page, Bulldog said, “Let me emphasize this. Only I, Green P and PFla, are the leading rappers in the country. All the others are far behind.” The claims will further add substance to earlier claims that the volatile rapper was slowly falling out with his longtime compatriot Jay Polly whom he has enjoyed a good relationship with. The two alongside Fireman form the Tuff Gangs Crew, a group that composes and sings hip hop music.
