Gospel singer Theo a.k.a Bose Babireba has told the media he will not be rushed into launching his eighth album until he has finished compiling his one hundredth song. The celebrated musician is known for his hits such as Bose Babireba, has a record seven albums to his names but says the eighth album will contain a hundred songs.
Theo also took the opportunity to explain why his concerts are mostly dominated by playback music. He said, “You see when someone gives you an invitation, they all expect you to perform live which is what most fans want. But to say the truth it’s expensive to hire the instruments as well as competent bands that can fully play my songs the way I want them played.”
The use of playback music has recently been criticized by a large section of music fans in Rwanda. Late 2012 the Minister of Sports and Culture Hon. Protais Mitali had called upon local artists to embrace the use of live music saying the use of compact disks ought to be restricted to our houses and vehicles.
