East Africa’s music heavy weights Singer Jose Chameleone, Amani and Amalura family have been crowned Kigali flop champions after they failed to fill the Kigali Serena hotel.
Sources have revealed that the main factor that successfully led to the flop of the show was poor organization and weak advertising strategies.
The two shows that took place at Serena hotel and Expo grounds received a maximum number of 60 -50 revealers far less from what organizers anticipated.
“If it wasn’t for the love I have for my fans in Rwanda, I couldn’t have performed at Serena with such poor sound systems and poor organization seen around the stage,” Chameleon told the media shortly after performing.
Though the event was deemed a flop, Singers Chameleone and Amani performed their best songs to the empty seats and a few revealers.
The Badilisha star Jose Chameleon stormed the stage at around 11:00 with lots of applause from the audience but he left the stage cursing after performing for a few of his loved songs like Jamila, Tubonge and others.
While on stage Jose Chameleon exchanged microphones more than twice due to poor sound systems.
“I attended both shows but it was evident that organizers did not give much time to advertising the shows hence less turn out because people in Rwanda no doubt love Chameleon,” says revealer Frank Munezero a resident of Nyamirambo.
Munezero also noted that local concert organizers didn’t invest much in advertising with media but instead picked only three radio stations and think it’s enough to have a successful concert.
