M-Net’s AfricaMagic and series producers Endemol SA released a press statement confirming that Rwanda and Sierra Leone will no longer form part of the countries participating in this year’s edition of Big Brother Africa, launching on Sunday, 7 September 2014.
“Unfortunately, due to schedules and logistical constraints there was insufficient time to follow the necessary procedures in order to process the required travel documentation which has recently become a more complex procedure” said official statement from M-Net Africa.
The Sports and Culture minister, Joseph Habineza when contacted, he confirmed to this website that he is aware about the issue.
“I am aware of the visa problem and we tried giving them service passports but those can’t work for three months as BBA competition requires,”
Big Brother Africa show is Africa’s most viewed television reality show that started in 2003 -S. Africa and Rwanda was going to be represented in the house for the first time.
The fever of BBA in Rwanda has been taking toll since 9 July edition in Kigali especially among the youths.
The website tried to contact both nominated candidates to have a say on the issue but no one could pick his phone at the time. Many Rwandans have taken to Twitter and facebook to express their frustrations.
